Isaiah 25:7-9
Though these verses were just given in the last post, I’d like to devote this post to them…
And he will SWALLOW UP on the mountain THE COVERING THAT IS CAST OVER ALL PEOPLES, THE VEIL that is spread over all nations. He will SWALLOW UP DEATH FOREVER; and the LORD GOD WILL WIPE AWAY TEARS FROM ALL FACES, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken. It will be said on that day, “Behold, THIS IS OUR GOD; WE HAVE WAITED for him, THAT HE MIGHT SAVE US. This is the LORD; WE HAVE WAITED for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
(ESV)
This is our God…
I wrote out the words to these verses on a notecard, and my hope is to look at them and allow them to sink deep into my heart.
And now I’m listening to a version of “I heard the bells on Christmas Day” by Casting Crowns. (Found here on my blog)
Here are part of the lyrics:
Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep
Good idea! Write them out and let God’s Word over and over be the balm to the soul, that it is. It reaches out to you once; let the same words reach out to you again and again and again. Every time you need those same words, look at them again,(every two minutes if you need to!) like the man in James who keeps looking intently into the perfect law of liberty, and doesn’t forget.
Isaiah is amazing, isn’t it?

There is a song that Chris Tomlin did called “This is Our God”.
Every time I hear it, my scalp tingles…
And the same exact sensation comes over me when I hear Isaiah 25:9.
Its captivating…mesmerizing…hope inspiring. Its up there in my favorite verse list with Eagle’s Wings and Beauty for Pain (Coincidentally, all found in Isaiah).

thanks Christina…I’m listening to it now. Thanks for introducing me to the song. The phrase “This is our God” is so neat isn’t it? Even neater that it’s in the Bible :)
